More than half of UK university students use artificial intelligence (AI) to complete their studies, according to a study conducted by the Higher Education Policy Institute. The study asked more than 1,000 undergraduates whether they used tools such as ChatGPT to help write essays or solve problems, and the results showed that 53% students admitted to using the technology. Of those, 5% participants said they simply copied and pasted text generated by AI for their academic work.
