SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won compares artificial intelligence to a "gold rush": If AI doesn't make money, Nvidia's "pickaxe" may not sell
According to a report by The Korea Times on July 19, at the 47th KCCI Jeju Forum last Friday, Choi Tae-won, chairman of South Korea's SK Group and president of the Korean Chamber of Commerce, expressed new views on AI. Choi Tae-won warned that if the AI technology industry fails to ensure sufficient profitability, Nvidia may lose its dominant position in a few years. Choi Tae-won compared the recent AI boom to the gold rush in the United States in the 19th century, and expected Nvidia to maintain its leading position for at least the next three years, just as pickaxes and jeans for mining were hot at the time.
