The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has launched its first major competitive behavior investigation in the field of generative AI, taking on five of the top developers of generative AI technology. The agency today issued 6(b) orders to Amazon, Microsoft, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Alphabet, requesting that the companies provide information about recent multi-billion dollar investments and partnerships.
