Researchers use AI to identify artworks on eBay and find 40 fakes
As many as 40 fake works are being sold on eBay, including one labeled as a Monet and one as a Renoir, according to an art appraisal expert. The expert, Dr. Karina Popovic, used advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology to identify the paintings for sale on the online platform and was shocked to discover that many of the works had a "high probability" of being "inauthentic."
