Texas has become the first state in the United States to publicly adopt artificial intelligence for grading. Texas recently announced that the written test portion of the Academic Readiness Assessment (STAAR) exam will use an "automatic scoring engine" to score students. STAAR is an exam that assesses the abilities of public school students in grades 3 to 12 in Texas at the end of each school year.
