Samsung launches semiconductor AGI computing lab in bid to improve AI chip design

Kyeong Gye Hyeon, CEO of Samsung Electronics' semiconductor business, reportedly announced on LinkedIn the establishment of Samsung Semiconductor's AGI Computing Labs in the U.S. and South Korea, and hiring has already begun.The AGI Computing Labs will focus on the development of chips for use in large-scale linguistic models, with a focus on inference and service applications. The plan is to continually release new versions of AGI Computing Lab chip designs, an iterative model that will provide enhanced performance at very low power and cost and support increasingly larger models.
