OpenAI The company issued a press release today announcing the launch of a dedicated AI Detection Tools, can identify whether a certain image is generated by the DALL・E 3 model,And the accuracy rate is as high as 98%.
OpenAI said in a blog post that the reason for launching this new tool is mainly to help researchers study the authenticity of content. In addition, the company also announced that it has joined the steering committee of C2PA (Content Provenance and Authenticity Alliance).
C2PA is a widely used digital content authentication standard developed and adopted by a wide range of players including software companies, camera manufacturers and online platforms. C2PA can be used to prove that content comes from a specific source.
OpenAI says it has added C2PA metadata to all images created and edited in ChatGPT and the OpenAI API since earlier this year.
OpenAI said that the tool’s internal test results showed a high success rate in distinguishing non-AI generated images from those generated by DALL・E 3, with a success rate close to 98%, while only less than 0.5% of non-AI images were incorrectly labeled as coming from DALL・E 3.
