A Slovenian startup may have created the coolest security camera ever: the Eve The device uses artificial intelligence to automatically identify intruders and fire paint bombs and tear gas at them.

The most brutal surveillance camera ever? AI automatically identifies intruders and fires tear gas

Eve is equipped with advanced computer vision technology that can identify intruders even at night, and can even recognize animals. Users can set visitors as "friends" or "enemies" through the app.

When Eve spots an intruder, it will shout a warning: "You have been identified as an unauthorized person. Please leave the property within five seconds!" If the intruder does not leave, Eve will attack with paint bombs or tear gas. In addition, the camera will record the entire process and store the video in the cloud. So even if the intruder escapes the attack from the robot, they may eventually be caught by the law.

Even smarter, if Eve detects a stranger next to an identified person, it will ask you to make a decision: shoot or let go?

“When it comes to security, passive defense is not enough. Imagine a future where security systems are not just passive observers, but active guardians,” said Paintcam, the startup that Eve works for.

It is reported that the global home security market is worth 51.9 billion euros (currently about 400.149 billion yuan) in 2021. Paintcam's Eve obviously has a huge potential customer base, but the product is bound to raise a series of ethical issues, and it is not even certain whether this camera is legal.

Eve will be officially released on April 23. The price has not yet been announced. It is currently being crowdfunded on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter.
