Aiming to train 95 million AI talents in 10 years, Cisco leads Microsoft and other 8 companies to form a new alliance

The consortium, known as The AI-Enabled ICT Workforce Consortium, is led by Cisco, with eight companies - Accenture, Eightfold, Google, IBM, Indeed, Intel, Microsoft and SAP.

In addition, the coalition employs a number of consultants, including the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, CHAIN5, the Communications Workers of America, DIGITALEUROPE, the European Vocational Training Association, Khan Academy and SMEUnited.

The Alliance recognizes that rapid advances in artificial intelligence are dramatically changing the workplace. It will assess the impact of AI on ICT jobs across the spectrum, provide actionable insights and recommend tailored training programs.

Together, these countries represent a significant portion of the ICT industry, with a combined total of 10 million ICT workers.

The initiative has set ambitious goals for inclusive training on a global scale. Microsoft, IBM, Google and others share the goal of training 95 million people in relevant AI skills over the next 10 years.
