A person familiar with the matter said that some enterprise customers have already received a copy of OpenAI's latest model and its ChatGPT A demo of the improvements to the tool, and one CEO who experienced the content said, "It's really nice and a substantial improvement over the previous version."
OpenAI also hinted at some of the model's unreleased capabilities, such as the ability to call on AI assistants OpenAI is developing to perform tasks autonomously, the CEO said.
However, OpenAI has yet to set a release date for the next generation of GPT models, meaning the company's expectations for the release of GPT-5 could change.
Another person familiar with the matter said that OpenAI is still in the process of training GPT-5, and that once the training is complete, it will undergo internal security testing and further scrutiny before being released to the public. The source noted that there is no specific timeframe for the security testing, so the process may be delayed.
