IBM The company recently issued a press release announcing the launch of a new version of its FlashCore Module storage hard drive and a new version of its Storage Defender software.Together, the two improve customers’ ability to detect and respond to cyberattacks or ransomware.
IBM said its existing FlashSystem products can scan all incoming data and provide proper security protection without affecting transmission performance.
The latest FlashCore Module 4 (FCM) introduces a new AI Models, statistics collected from each I/O can be continuously monitored to look for anomalies, such as ransomware starting to encrypt data.
IBM said that in actual testing, the new technology was able to detect a ransomware simulator called WannaLaugh in less than a minute.
Meanwhile, the latest version of Storage Defender expands its core threat detection capabilities.
IBM said it also added workload and storage inventory management capabilities to the software to help clients assess the scope of their applications and data, which can help get them back online quickly after an attack.
