At Mobile World Congress 2024,MicrosoftPresident Brad Smith announced the company's new AI Access Principles, which will guide Microsoft's future business development in the field of artificial intelligence.
"The principles we are announcing today represent the largest-ever change in Microsoft's 49-year history," Smith wrote in a blog post.investBy publishing these principles, we are committed to providing broad access to technology so that organizations and individuals around the world can develop and use AI in ways that serve the public interest.”
Microsoft announced 11 AI access principles, which are divided into three major sections:
-
Empowering developers: Microsoft will continue to expand its infrastructure to support the training and use of AI models, while providing a wide range of AI models and tools to software application developers.
-
Provide choice: Microsoft will provide developers with access to public APIs and provide network operators with a unified public API. Developers can choose how to sell, distribute, and use their AI models on Microsoft Azure services, and Microsoft promises to simplify the process for developers to move from Azure to other cloud development platforms. In addition, Microsoft guarantees that it will not use non-public data in any AI model used by developers on Azure.
-
Security and responsibility: Microsoft will work to ensure that AI models and data centers are protected from physical and cybercrime threats, and apply its own Responsible AI Standard to ensure the security, fairness and privacy of AI. At the same time, Microsoft will also invest in AI skills training around the world. Finally, Microsoft is committed to running its AI data servers in an environmentally friendly manner.
