GoogleOfficially announced today Gemini for Workspace, providing a range of AI-assisted features for Google Workspace users.
The highlight of this release is its pricing information. Google updated the pricing page for Workspace, and all packages offer an option called "Gemini extension". The "Duet AI for Google Workspace" previously launched by Google has been cancelled. Although the product was released in August last year, it was not really open to the public.
Google detailed the update in a blog post. The most basic "Starter" plan for Workspace costs $6 per user per month. If you want to use the "Gemini extension", you need to pay an additional $20 (currently about 144 RMB) monthly fee (the above prices require an annual contract). While this is a significant expense for a regular Workspace subscription, it makes sense given the cost of AI processing. Google says the business package will provide users with features such as "assisted writing in Docs and Gmail, enhanced smart fill in Sheets, and image generation in Slides." In addition, the package also includes the "1.0 Ultra" version of Gemini ChatbotsIt should be noted that the $20 package limits the number of uses of Gemini AI functions to 1,000 times per month.
The launch of Gemini for Workspace marks a major reshaping of Google's AI business products, and also clarifies Google's previously confusing and ever-changing AI brand image. The previously announced Duet AI was not officially released to the public, while Gemini Business provides a convenient purchasing process that any Workspace business customer can easily subscribe to the service.
In addition to the general package, Google also offers a "Gemini Enterprise" version, which has no usage limits but can only be obtained through "Contact Us" and cannot be purchased directly online. The Enterprise version costs $30 per user per month and "provides additional AI meeting features, such as Gemini's ability to translate subtitles in more than 100 language pairs and the ability to automatically record meeting notes."
