Analyst firm Gartner recently released a report predicting that by 2026, more than 80% of enterprises will use generative AI application programming interfaces (APIs) or models, or deploy support in related production environments.Generative AI application.
The analyst firm claims that today, less than 5% of enterprises use generative AI in production environments, but in just three years, the number of enterprises adopting or creating generative AI models is expected to grow 16 times.
Arun Chandrasekaran, distinguished vice president analyst at Gartner, believes that generative AI will become a "top priority" for corporate management and will trigger tremendous innovation in new tools beyond basic models. In the future, the demand for generative AI in industries including "healthcare, life sciences, law, financial services and the public sector" will continue to increase.
Gartner believes that generative AI can improve user experience and speed up the processing of various tasks. As applications gradually add relevant functions, industry practitioners also need to master relevant application technologies.
Arun Chandrasekaran said, "The most common pattern in generative AI today is 'generating something using text', but there are still some shortcomings in related applications, such as 'hallucinations and inaccuracies', which may limit the industry's widespread adoption of related technologies."
In addition, Gartner predicts that the basic model will enter the "peak stage" on the technology maturity curve (IT Home Note: The basic model is the machine learning model corresponding to generative AI, such as the relationship between GPT and ChatGPT). By 2027, the basic model will support the natural language processing of 60% (NLP) use cases, a significant increase compared to “less than 5%” in 2021.
