April 9, 2011 - Last weekPew Research Center(Pew Research Center) released a report titled "USAA new report, "How the Public and Artificial Intelligence Experts View Artificial Intelligence," provides insights into how U.S. adults feel about artificial intelligence (AI).AI) view provides a new perspective. According to 1AI, the report's survey included more than 5,000 U.S. adults as well as 1,000 AI experts. Not surprisingly, the survey results show that professionals working in the field of AI are generally optimistic about the future of the technology. However, the general public has a very different view of AI.
In the survey, 43% of respondents believe that widespread use of AI could harm them, while only 24% believe that AI will benefit them, and 33% are unsure. When asked about the impact of AI on the U.S. as a whole over the next 20 years, 35% thought it would have a negative impact, 17% thought it would have a positive impact, and the rest said they were unsure or thought the impact would be mixed. In this regard, 9to5mac says that if Apple can ensure that AI does not constantly collect user data, it could alleviate a major public concern. Additionally, designing user-friendly interfaces for AI features would greatly improve public acceptance of AI. While Apple has some obvious disadvantages in the current AI race, it also has the opportunity to develop AI features that truly enhance users' quality of life, are easy to use and accessible, and do not simply replace human creativity.
