OpenAI analyzed nearly 40 million ChatGPT interactions in the course of the survey, combining it with user surveys to understand the real usage patterns; on the other hand, it recruited nearly 1,000 participants in collaboration with the MIT Media Lab team to conduct a four-week ChatGPT usage experiment, exploring the impact of the platform's functionality and type of usage on the users' psychological state.
