NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang delivered a keynote address at NVIDIA's annual developer conference in San Jose, California. The conference attracted a large number of industry participants, and in his speech, Jen-Hsun Huang showcased the software tools NVIDIA has developed to help humanoid robots move through the world more easily. He noted that these tools will lay the groundwork for widespread adoption of humanoid robots.
After the speech, Jen-Hsun Huang was asked when AI would become ubiquitous. He replied that it will be a sign when humanoid robots actually start to "walk around" in various scenarios, and that the day is not far away. "This is not a question that will come up in five years, but a goal that can be realized in a few years." Jen-Hsun Huang emphasized.
Jen-Hsun Huang believes that manufacturing will be the first area where humanoid robots will be adopted. He explains that manufacturing has well-defined tasks and that robots can accomplish these tasks in a controlled environment. "I think humanoid robots should be used in factories first. Because there are more constraints in this area and the usage scenarios are more specific, their value is easier to determine." Jen-Hsun Huang further noted that the current cost of renting a humanoid robot is about $100,000 (note: current exchange rate is about 723,000 yuan), which is a fairly reasonable cost from an economic perspective.
