Anthropic is working on voice features for Claude chatbot, has discussed partnerships with multiple parties

March 19, 2013 - Artificial intelligence startup Anthropic is working on an AI-powered chatbot for its Claude exploit (a resource)Voice Function. Speaking to the FT, the company's chief product officer, Mike Krieger, revealed that Anthropic plans to roll out a series of experiences that will allow users to communicate with the company's AI models by voice.

Krieger says: "We're looking at how Claude on the desktop can evolve ...... If it will be used to operate computers, then voice interaction may be a more natural user interface." He also mentioned that Anthropic is already working internally on voice features and has developed some prototypes. "Voice is a very useful way of interacting and we are exploring how to integrate it into our products."

1AI notes that the report also states that Anthropic has been in discussions with Amazon -- a key investor and partner in the company -- and ElevenLabs, a voice-focused AI startup, to advance the future of Claude's voice capabilities. However, no final agreements have been reached yet.

Krieger further revealed that Anthropic has spoken with "many partners" to accelerate the rollout of the voice experience.
