February 26th.OpenAI In a tweet on the X platform today (February 26), the company announced the free and open ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode.Allow more users to experience more natural voice conversations.
The model is based on the GPT-4o mini model, which is comparable in performance to the full version of the GPT-4o model by optimizing computational efficiency. This feature, previously limited to paid subscribers, is now free for all users. Simply click on the voice icon in the bottom right corner of the screen to access a dedicated interface and turn the microphone on or off and end the conversation as needed.
Note: The ChatGPT desktop app for macOS and Windows 10, Windows 11 now supports Advanced Voice Mode with 5 voices, customizable prompts and the ability to review the conversation later, note that users need to authorize the ChatGPT app to access the microphone to use this feature.
Free users using ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode will be subject to a daily usage limit on audio input and output, and will be warned when they have 3 minutes of usage time remaining, and the conversation will automatically end when the limit is reached.
ChatGPT Plus users have access to the full version of the GPT-4o-based Premium Voice mode, with five times the daily limit of the free version, and can continue to use the video and screen-sharing features in Premium Voice; ChatGPT Pro users do not have a daily limit.
