Note: Perplexity announced in a tweet on the X platform yesterday (February 24) that it is working on a web browser called Comet and has opened registration for it, with details of when it will go live and what it will do yet to be revealed.
Comet will face stiff competition from older browsers such as Chrome, as well as a number of third-party alternatives, including The Browser Company's Dia browser, which offers AI-powered features that will compete with Perplexity's offerings.
Perplexity AI claims that its AI technology provides a better search experience than other browsers, such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, some of which also already combine AI, search, or both.
