Google has now partnered with a number of U.S. auto repair shops and nail salon stores to allow users to find out business hours, fees, and other relevant information without having to make a call themselves. Businesses have the option to decline calls made by AI on their behalf, and the feature informs the person at the start of the call that it was initiated by AI.
To use "Ask for Me," Google Search users will need to opt-in to Search Labs and test it by searching for phrases such as "oil change near me" or "nail salon near me. " and then search for phrases such as "nearby oil change service" or "nearby nail salon" to test it out.
Due to capacity constraints, you may have to wait in line before making a call. Google said the feature uses some of the underlying technology used to make restaurant reservations through Google Search and the Google Maps app.
Google's "Ask for Me" function provides users with a convenient way to consult, using AI technology to improve the search experience. Although it is still in the testing stage, its application prospect is worth paying attention to.
