January 24, 2012 - Technology media outlet NeoWin published a blog post yesterday (January 23) reporting that Microsoft plans to begin in February 2025, toDeploy Copilot Chat for Outlook and Copilot Chat for Teams online.will bring a new Copilot chat experience with easier access.
Citing Microsoft's updated Microsoft 365 roadmap, 1AI attached the information below:
- Beginning in late January 2025 (originally planned for mid-January), the Teams and Outlook apps will have the Microsoft Copilot app installed and pinned to the left sidebar by default, with deployment scheduled for late February 2025 (originally planned for late January).
- Starting in mid-February 2025, the Teams and Outlook mobile apps begin to fix the Microsoft Copilot icon.
- In mid-January 2025, users with an Entra account will be able to use Microsoft Copilot in Microsoft Teams and Outlook, and if fixed, Entra users will be able to access the Microsoft Copilot app directly from the left navigation bar in Outlook and Teams. Microsoft Copilot will also be available in the App Store and can be added by users and managed by the existing App Availability Management settings.
- The Microsoft Copilot application will be temporarily available to users using the Classic Outlook for Windows Semi-Annual channel during deployment. These clients will follow administrator and user preferences, but will typically not display Copilot features in the Classic Outlook for Windows Semi-Annual channel. After clients update to version 2408 or later, the Microsoft Copilot application will again be hidden from Semi-Annual channel users.
