Today, January 22nd Adobe Introduced a program for its video editing software Premiere Pro based on the AI Visual RecognitionThe search function of theUsers can quickly find relevant clips by describing the video content. This feature is one of several new user experience enhancements Adobe has added to Premiere Pro, After Effects and Frame.io that are designed to help video editors save time.
According to 1AI.Users can find video clips in the media library by typing in a search term such as "a man skating in a camera halo".Adobe says its Media Intelligence AI can automatically recognize "objects, scenes, camera angles, and more," as well as voice content in videos -- provided the video is accompanied by a text transcript. While the feature can't detect audio or recognize specific people, it can scan the metadata accompanying a video file to find clips based on conditions such as date, location and camera type. Additionally, media analytics run locally on the device without an internet connection, and Adobe emphasizes that users' video content will not be used to train any AI models.
At the same time, Adobe has introduced a video subtitle translation feature that supports 17 languages. In Premiere Pro, users can open multiple subtitle tracks at the same time, making it easy to view and edit translations in multiple languages at once. The Media Intelligence-powered search panel and subtitle translation feature is available today in the beta version of Premiere Pro for anyone with a Creative Cloud or Premiere Pro subscription.
In After Effects, Adobe has added support for HDR (High Dynamic Range) monitoring and a complete upgrade to the caching system, making it significantly faster to preview or play large project files. Instead of limiting itself to storing all rendered frames in system memory, the new system utilizes both RAM and disk caching to optimize performance, which Adobe says will make it possible for older desktops and laptops to play back entire composites smoothly "without pausing for caching or rendering." HDR Support and Updated Caching System HDR support and an updated caching system are already available in the After Effects beta.
In addition, Adobe's Frame.io platform now supports Camera to Cloud integration for the Canon C80 and C400 cameras, allowing users to automatically upload files directly from the camera to the Frame.io application. This feature was rolled out last December via a Canon firmware update, and users will need to install the update to utilize it.
