At the 2025 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), theDavy Robot The company introduced the intelligentBasketball training robot The Datic 1 is attracting a lot of attention. The robot is designed to provide basketball enthusiasts with a 24/7 training partner that helps users improve their shooting skills through repetitive practice.
The Datic 1 was designed with the core ingredient behind the success of basketball players like Steph Curry and Sabrina Ionescu - constant practice. However, finding a partner who's ready and willing to practice with you is not an easy task, and the Datic 1 is designed to solve that problem.
Weighing about 33 pounds (note: about 14.97 kg), the robot is relatively portable. Users simply push it under a basketball hoop, and the robot's robotic arm automatically extends to raise the net to a standard basket height (about 3 meters). At CES, a lower-than-standard basket height was on display, but Davy Robot says the final version will be fully compliant with tournament specifications. datic 1 is equipped with machine vision and artificial intelligence technology that tracks the shooter's position and returns the ball to the user by rotating the head for an efficient training cycle.
Davy Robot plans to launch a crowdfunding campaign for the Datic 1 in June 2025 via the Kickstarter platform, with an expected price tag of $1,000 (currently around Rs. 7,341).
