Dec. 28, 2012 - According to a report today on CNBCGoogle CEO PichaiLast week, it told employees that the stakes are "high" for 2025 as the company faces increasing competition, regulatory hurdles and rapid advances in AI.
Pichai said, "I think 2025 is going to be the year thatA critical year. We need to deeply recognize the urgency of the moment and accelerate the pace of the company. This is a time of disruptive impact, and we must focus on driving the change that technology brings to solve real problems for our users."
He also argues that building a business that includes Gemini The application's "big new business" is a top priority. Executives said they think Gemini will be a "big new business" for Google.The next app to reach 500 million users(Note: The company currently has 15 apps that have reached this milestone). "Gemini apps have been growing strongly, especially in the last few months. But we have some work to do in 2025 to close the gap and establish a leadership position."
He later added, "Next year, rolling out Gemini on the consumer side will be our top priority." In addition, Pichai showed a chart of large language models where Gemini 1.5 is ahead of OpenAI's GPT and other competitors. "I expect some back and forth pulling in 2025. I think we'll be at the state-of-the-art. Historically, you don't always need to be first, but you have to execute well and be the best in class. I think that's what 2025 is all about."
