Googleis constantly working on its own AI assistants Gemini Unlock new skills and integrate them in phones with Android 15 that have Gemini set as the default assistant.
Among other things."query this PDF" is part of the newly released Files by Google update, the official file manager of Google, also known as Files Geek. According to Android Police, the feature was initially described as "coming soon" on the Play store, but it's already being pushed out.
Mishaal Rahman, a reporter for the outlet who also broke the news about Android, said that the feature has already begun to be pushed out, but that not all Gemini users will be able to use it.

Mishaal Rahman showed how the feature works: the "Ask about this PDF" button sits above the Gemini pop-up window and is laid out similarly to YouTube's Gemini integration. When the feature is available, users can trigger the Gemini overlay (either by long-pressing the power button or using the "Hey Google" wake-up call) to enable the new button while viewing a PDF file, and Gemini will then complete the PDF summary or answer, among other things.
