Note: The model utilizes a multi-step approach whereby a research plan is created and then relevant information is found; the tool then searches the information again to extract knowledge and repeats this process several times before ultimately generating a report.
Languages supported by Gemini include Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Danish, French, German, Gujarati, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Korean, Malayalam, Marathi, Polish, Portuguese, Kiswahili, Spanish, Tamil, Telugu, Thani, Ukrainian, and Urdu.
HyunJeong Choe, director of applications engineering at Gemini, said Google trains its models using clean data and reliable sources, but AI overviews in some languages like Hindi still have accuracy issues with summarization. To address this, Google relies on local data sources, uses Google searches to corroborate information, and performs data evaluation and fact-checking in local languages before rolling out models.
