Midjourney The company's latest launch is called "Patchwork"A New Narrative Tool.Expanding beyond AI image creation and editing with the goal of creating AI-driven immersive storytelling worlds.
The tool is suitable for fiction writers (to design the background and characters of the story), game developers (to build a complete worldview for the game), artists, etc. It can generate a "world", allowing you to build characters, styles, backstories, and so on.
Patchwork is a standalone web application that requires the user to log in with a Midjourney account.Once logged in, the IT home features an infinite canvas in the center and a toolbox on the left that includes buttons for "Characters," "Events," "Factions," "Locations," "Props," and "Random, "Faction", "Location", "Props" and "Random" buttons on the left, as well as "Notes, Images, Portals, Saves, and Shares. Share" tools.
After clicking "Save", a JSON file is downloaded containing links to all the Midjourney images, with each canvas being treated as a separate digital "world".
Users can switch between worlds by creating "portals". Once a new world has been created, users can select up to 10 different image styles by entering text prompts in the edit field at the top of the Create screen.
The system generates a new whiteboard containing static image resources, text boxes, and entities called "scraps". Users can enter prompts to generate new images, settings, and even AI character descriptions.
In the demo, the character name is auto-populated with Marcus "Dizzy" Gillespie, and four new AI images are generated by dragging the descriptions into the Character Image Builder box.
Users can add new character boxes, create names, traits, and motivations, and connect characters with lines to indicate their relationships. Users can also write action sequences and scene descriptions to build complete narratives.
Users can share drawing boards with other Midjourney users and collaborate in real time. A world can support up to 100 simultaneous users, but the more users there are, the more chaotic the experience can be. Currently only logged in users can view the boards, and in the future they may be open to non-users.
