xAI launched Grok last year, positioned as "humoristic AI Assistant". In August, the platform added a text-to-graphics feature to Grok, which has been criticized for generating some controversial images.
As 1AI previously reported, xAI began testing a free version of Grok last month in some regions, such as New Zealand. At the time, however, theThere are some limitations to the use of the free version of GrokThe free version of Grok is limited to 10 queries per day for Grok-2 models, 20 queries per day for Grok-2 mini models, and 3 queries per day for image analysis. In addition, a user account must be registered for at least 7 days and a cell phone number must be tied to the account in order to use the free version of Grok.
Additionally, xAI has raised $6 billion (currently around Rs 43,591 crore) in its latest funding round and plans to launch a standalone app for Grok, according to the Wall Street Journal. Currently, major competitors such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude have already launched similar standalone apps.
