By the end of 2024, Seoul plans to install 10,657 new cameras equipped with AI technology, of which 4,748 will be operational next year. The city will also replace outdated security cameras, with the first batch of replacements being old surveillance cameras with less than 1.3 million pixels. Currently, Seoul operates more than 160,000 security cameras, of which 15,000 will be replaced next year.
