According to Windows CentralMicrosoftis preparing to pass a newAIFunctionality upgrades its Surface product lines. Unnamed sources told the outlet that the upcoming Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 will come with next-generation neural processing units (NPUs), as well as Intel- and Arm-based options.
The report claims that Microsoft's Arm-based devices will be powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon X chipset. Codenamed CADMUS, these PCs are said to be designed to run AI features in future versions of Microsoft's Windows. They will also rival the Apple Silicon in terms of performance, battery life and security. Meanwhile, the Intel versions of these devices are said to come withup to dateThe 14th generation of the chip.
Aside from the upgraded internal hardware, the Surface Pro 10 is said to have a brighter display with HDR support and an anti-glare coating, as well as options for 2160 x 1440 or 2880 x 1920 resolutions. It may even have rounded corners, similar to the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio series, theand supports a new Type Cover with an AI co-pilot button.
As for the Surface Laptop 6, Windows Central reports that the smaller model will come with a slightly larger 13.8-inch display (up from the Surface Laptop 5's 13.5-inch), while the 15-inch model will remain the same size. Like the Surface Pro 10, this device is said to have a rounded display and thinner bezels. It could also have a number of new ports, including two USB-C ports, a USB-A port and a Surface Connect charging port. The device is also rumored to feature a haptic touchpad and a keyboard button dedicated to the AI co-pilot.
Microsoft is expected to release the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 sometime next year, but Windows Central reports that there could be more significant Surface Pro design changes in 2025, as well as a new Surface Laptop Studio.
