A Fist Games staffer bluntly stated that this behavior is disrespectful to the creators of the show.
The poster was discovered by an X-platformer user who paused his viewing of League of Legends: Battle of Two Cities on Netflix and noticed that the proportions of the character's hands in the poster were clearly off -- something that's often considered a "classic AI drawing mistake."
Another user then took to X to criticize the poster as "disappointing and disrespectful to the creator". In response, League of Legends: Battle for Two Cities brand owner Alex Shahmiri said, "Thank you for your feedback. We've always been passionate about our content for League of Legends: Battle for Two Cities.Adherence to a strict 'No AI' stance, because this behavior is disrespectful to the artists who put in the effort. This image was a mistake and has now been taken down. Thanks again for the heads up."
However, some users have questioned Shahmiri's statement, arguing that he only talked about League of Legends: Battle for Two Cities' non-AI policies and failed to mention other Riot Games projects such as Fearless Pact and League of Legends.
To this, Shahmiri responded, "I can only speak to what I am responsible for. From a personal perspective, I am not in favor of AI because the beauty of art is the emotional resonance between people. Whether it's through art, music or other creative forms, that connection is something I don't want AI to replace."
