November 20, 2011 - At the 22nd Sangju Persimmon Marathon held in Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea, RAIBO2, a quadrupedal walking robot developed by the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), completed the 42.195-kilometer marathon in 4 hours, 19 minutes, and 52 seconds. This is the world's first quadrupedal robot to complete a full marathon, proving its ability to stably perform tasks such as deliveries and patrols in complex urban environments.
