TechCrunch, a technology media outlet, published a blog post yesterday, November 19, reporting thatGooglestart selling to Gemini Advanced users, introducing the "memory" feature. It can memorize details of the user's life, work habits, and personal preferences.
This means that Gemini will no longer be a cold AI, but an attentive assistant that remembers your preferences. Similar to ChatGPT's "memory" feature, Gemini remembers what you tell it, such as your favorite foods, common programming languages, and more.
The next time a user asks a question, it will be able to give a more accurate answer based on your preferences, which is like having a personal assistant who understands you and can provide personalized services based on your preferences.
Citing the media outlet as an example, you have told Gemini your favorite cuisine in a previous chat, then in the latest chat, when you ask for a restaurant recommendation, the suggestion will be adapted to your dietary preferences, taking into account your previous memory.
To make it easier for users, Gemini also provides several predefined memory examples, such as "Answer in simple language", "Write code in JavaScript only", and so on.
All memorized information is under the user's control and can be deleted at any time, and Google guarantees that it will not be used to train models.
The feature is currently only available on the web and requires a subscription to the Google One AI Premium service ($20 per month), which is not yet available for iOS and Android users.
