GoogleThis week saw the launch of a dedicated Gemini AI app, breaking away from the limited integration previously limited to the main Google app. Not only does the new app have enhanced functionality over the previous, non-standalone version, it also has iOS-exclusive Nimble Island Integration.
iPhone users will be able toInteract with Google's AI via text or voiceThe Gemini Extensions feature is available on the Google Apps website, and can be accessed using Gemini Extensions. Additionally, the newly introduced Gemini Live, previously unavailable in Google Apps, is a highlight, allowing users to see Gemini Live on the Spirit Island and lock screen while in conversation, theNo need to switch back to the main appIt's easy to manage AI interactions.
The app is free to download, and a Gemini Advanced subscription for premium features is available as part of the Google One AI Premium program for $18.99 per month (currently around Rs. 137). Subscribers will not only be able to use Gemini in applications such as Mail and Documents, but will also enjoy priority access to Google's latest 1.5 Pro model, early access to new features, and a contextual window of 1 million tokens.
The release reportedly follows an initial beta test in the Philippines this week, which has now been expanded to more regions such as Australia, India, the US, and the UK (country regions are not supported at this time).
