Google Inc. launched its AI Overviews in Search feature in the U.S. in May of this year, and expanded it to some markets outside the U.S. in August of this year, with the feature being used primarily to AI Summarysearchresults, allowing users to find a better fit for their search.
Google said in a blog post that it will begin rolling out the AI Overviews feature this week in more than 100 countries and territories around the world, reaching 1 billion monthly active users worldwide.
Google has also expanded its language support and currently supports English, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish.
Since its launch, AI Overviews, whose core goal is to help users discover quality content from publishers, businesses, and creators, has added a more prominent presentation of links.
On desktop and mobile, users can access the relevant websites via the website icon in the top right corner. In addition, the newly introduced in-line link (inline link) appears directly in the text of AI Overviews, and tests have shown that these updates have effectively boosted traffic to supported websites.
