In the course of the just-held Meta At Connect2024, Meta's Founder and CEO ZuckerbergMeta AI is excited to announce that it is approaching 500 million monthly active users, and is expected to become the world's most utilizedAI Assistant.
In his speech, Zuckerberg mentioned:Â "We're currently at almost 500 million monthly active users and have yet to launch in some of the big markets, like Europe." This news certainly raises expectations for the future of Meta AI.
Meta is said to have revealed earlier that the number of monthly active users worldwide has exceeded 400 million. And in a recent earnings meeting, Meta's CFO Susan Lee also mentioned that India is Meta AI's largest market, with WhatsApp having more than 500 million users in the country, which provides strong support for Meta AI's user growth.
In contrast to Meta AI's rapid growth, OpenAI's ChatGPT weekly users are also increasing, currently exceeding 200 million, reflecting the fierce competition in the AI market. To further enhance its competitiveness, Meta also recently launched a new model family called Llama 3.2 with multimodal capabilities to better meet user needs. Additionally, Meta has specifically introduced lightweight models that do not use European user data in order to be rolled out in the European market.
At Meta Connect2024, Meta also announced a number of new features, including new synchronized translations of celebrity voices and lip-syncing, which will provide users with a richer interactive experience. At the same time, Meta extended its generative AI feature "Imagine" to multiple platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Messenger, allowing users to generate images with simple prompts. In addition, Meta AI has the ability to recognize and edit photos, further enhancing the user experience.
