recently,OpenAI Officials on the delivery platform X An account on the site was hacked, posting a fakeCryptocurrencyAdvertisement.
It happened at 6:24 p.m. Monday when the account named @OpenAINewsroom, an account that specializes in sharing OpenAI news and has nearly 54,000 followers, suddenly sent out a since-deleted tweet promoting a token called "$OPENAI."
The tweet claimed, "We are very excited to announce $OPENAI: the token that bridges the gap between artificial intelligence and blockchain technology." Also, the tweet mentions that all OpenAI users will have the opportunity to pick up an initial supply of $OPENAI and that those who hold the token will have access to all of OpenAI's future beta projects.
Surprisingly, the tweet was accompanied by a link to a fake OpenAI website that was not the real openai.com.
This reporter visited the fake website and found a section on it claiming to claim the $OPENAI cryptocurrency. After I clicked on the relevant button, the website asked me to connect a crypto wallet, however, I did not do this. In this regard, we would like to remind you that if you accidentally enter this website, please do not connect your crypto wallet in order to avoid being deceived.
As of now, the cryptocurrency-promoting tweet has been deleted, and @OpenAINewsroom tweeted in response, "Comment closed due to malicious link. Good luck to everyone!" . It's worth noting that the account was just launched earlier this month, and now it has suffered such an unfortunate incident.
This situation certainly reminds us that cybersecurity remains a serious issue and we must be vigilant in not trusting unfamiliar links and messages easily. We hope that all users will remain vigilant and avoid becoming victims of such scams.
