The MIFA Laboratory of Qingyuan Research Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, together with the Department of Endocrinology, Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University.A team of experts was assembled to join forces to develop a product called Diabetica ofdiabetesDedicated large model.
Diabetica models help patients, physicians, and healthcare organizations work together to address the complex challenges of diabetes management by combining the powerful linguistic processing capabilities of the Big Model with expertise in diabetes to provide a full range of intelligent support for physicians, patients, and medical education.
The team introduced a completely new framework for training and validating diabetes-specific large language models. The team began by developing a comprehensive data processing system to collect, filter, enhance, and refine relevant data to create a high-quality diabetes-specific dataset and create multiple assessment benchmarks entirely from scratch.
The team subsequently fine-tuned the large language model to show state-of-the-art capabilities in understanding and processing various diabetes tasks compared to other models.
Clinical studies have shown potential applications of the model in diabetes care, including providing personalized healthcare, assisting in medical education, and streamlining clinical tasks.
The team says the related research describes a framework for developing and evaluating diabetes-specific LLM families and highlights their potential to enhance clinical practice and provide personalized, data-driven diabetes support when dealing with diverse end users.
