According to reports,RedditUsers have been paying for nude photos of a fake, AI-generated woman.
These photos were taken by the artificial intelligence tool Stable Diffusion Created with an extremely realistic and indistinguishable appearance. The images first appeared on multiple Reddit forums a few months ago, garnering a lot of attention and comments from users.
Stable Diffusion generates beautiful photos
One user even commented after seeing Claudia's photo: "You're beautiful!" Others said : "Wow, that's so beautiful!"
Although some users are beginning to doubt the authenticity of the photos, arguing that they look too processed, there are still many who are addicted to the "beauty".
A user in the know reminded everyone in the comments:- "I'm going to have to ruin your fantasy that this was actually created by AI. If you've ever played with AI image modeling, you'll see it right away."
According to Claudia's creators, they've already made about $100 by selling these nude photos. In fact, the original purpose of the account was to test whether AI images could successfully trick users.
They said:- "Think of it as the concept of virtual anchors, where we create our own characters and perform in a different capacity altogether. I didn't realize it would attract so much attention."
The AI researchers noted that Claudia's photos do have some noticeable AI-generated features, such as strange details in the background and blemishes on the hands. The presence of these images marks the latest development in AI diffusion modeling technology, which is capable of generating completely new and realistic images of people.
Note that Claudia first appeared in the r/amIhot sub-section, which has since begun asking users to provide a 10- to 15-second video to verify their identity in order to prevent similar incidents.
