Tech media outlet testingcatalog published a blog post yesterday (September 18) thatReports said OpenAI Company may further promote on September 24th ChatGPT 's Advanced Voice Mode, and maybe even a direct official release.
OpenAI announced in July that it was opening up ChatGPT's Advanced Voice Mode to a small group of ChatGPT Plus users, giving them access to GPT-4o's surreal audio response for the first time.
The outlet reports that OpenAI Inc. has updated the Advanced Speech Patterns FAQ page with code that was found to "hasSeenAdvancedVoice/2024-09-24" string, suggesting that some mobile users will be invited to experience the advanced voice mode.
There have also been some new developments on the macOS version of the ChatGPT app. In the Voice Mode interface, the familiar black circular icon representing the ChatGPT voice has been replaced with an animated sky that moves as the voice plays.
Additionally, on the Voice page, there is now a new button that provides quick access to voice selection. Currently, there are still only four voices available, but the interface design seems to be aimed at potentially supporting more voices in the future. This is in line with previous reports, which indicated that more voices are already available internally, although they are still in development.
Netizens digging deeper into the FAQ page also found the following:
We are enabling Voice chat access to memories to a small number of alpha Advanced Voice users.
Translated, this reads, "We have enabled voice chat access to memories to a small number of Alpha Advanced Voice users."
