GoogleCo-founder Sergey Brin said that GoogleengineerDoesn't use AI as often as he thinks he does.
Brin made the comments during an online conversation with entrepreneur David Friedberg at the All-In Summit in Los Angeles this week. In a rare appearance at the summit, Brin discussed the "exciting" advances in AI.
"As a computer scientist, I've never seen anything as exciting as the progress that's been made in the last few years," Brin said.
Brin said he is currently at Google almost every day.He also praised the multifaceted capabilities of AI, especially in programming.
According to Brin, "It feels very difficult to write code from scratch, compared to how much easier it is to ask AI to do it." Brin mentioned that he was curious about how well Google's AI model performed at Sudoku. As an experiment, Brin asked the model to write code to automatically generate Sudoku puzzles. after 30 minutes, the model successfully completed the task.
Breen said engineers were "impressed" with the model's performance.Because they don't fully utilize AI tools for programming as much as he thinks they should.
Brin also said in the conversation that Google was too "timid" in releasing its early language models because they made mistakes and said "embarrassing things". Brin said that in AI ProgrammingIn terms of that, it requires braving embarrassment and risk-taking, and Google has improved in that regard.
The event featured several other high-profile speakers, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
