At the AI infrastructure level, China has 22 unicorns and the United States has 12.
The unicorn with the highest valuation in the United States is Gong.io, which has reached US$7.25 billion. In addition, there are three companies with valuations of more than US$5 billion. There are a total of 8 unicorns related to generative AI and big models in China. Among them, the one with the highest valuation is Dark Side of the Moon, which is currently valued at about US$3 billion. It has only been established for about a year, which is more than 7 years later than OpenAI. Domestic large-model AGI companies are generally established late, and the outbreak will be concentrated after 2022. There are also some big model startups that are "rising stars" and have the potential to become unicorns.
China has made significant progress in the application of artificial intelligence + industry, such as Baidu's autonomous driving platform Apollo, Alibaba's City Brain, etc. It also has the largest number of unicorns in this field, with a total of 58, far exceeding the 20 in the United States. The main application scenarios include autonomous driving, logistics/distribution/warehousing robots, AI+medical care, etc.
From the perspective of single valuation, the valuation of the US autonomous driving unicorn Nuro is about US$9 billion, which is higher than the valuations of similar Chinese unicorns Horizon Robotics ($8.71 billion) and Pony.ai ($8.5 billion).
