In response to these risks, Microsoft said that they are making major changes. They plan to make the Recall feature a user-selectable feature instead of a default feature, encrypt the database, and use Windows Hello for authentication. These measures are all to ensure user security and privacy.
Microsoft's Windows and Surface chief Pavan Davuluri mentioned in a blog post that although the Recall feature has been delayed, security remains their top priority.
They hope to bring everyone a trustworthy preview experience when Recall is officially launched in October.
