According to the Form 8-K document submitted by entertainment technology company Xperi to the US SEC on the 14th of this month, Amazon.com Services LLC will buy Xperi's subsidiary for US$80 million (currently about RMB 571 million). Perceive most of its assets and certain of its liabilities.
Amazon.com Services LLCAmazonServices Limited Liability Company, is one of the core companies of Amazon Group. Perceive is a company focusing on edge AI reasoning software and hardware.
Xperi CEO Jon Kirchner said in a press release:
- Since Perceive's founding, edge inference technology has evolved rapidly, and Perceive has adapted to this rapidly changing environment with the skills of its leaders and engineers.
- We are delighted to have found a great home for Perceive, its employees and technology. We are excited for Amazon to take this technology to the next level, as we believe it has tremendous potential.
An Amazon spokesperson said of the deal:

Amazon expects the transaction to close this year and does not require regulatory approval.The vast majority of Perceive employees will join Amazon’s devices and services teams after the acquisition is completed.
