According to Xinhua News Agency, recently, the "Listen carefully"Large model of earthquake wavesThe model was officially released in Chengdu, Sichuan. It is the first seismic wave model in China to reach the billion-level parameter level.Large Model, marking an important breakthrough in the integration of seismological research and artificial intelligence technology in my country.
Guo Li, chairman of Chengdu Supercomputing Center Operation Management Co., Ltd., introduced that the "Di Ting" project started in September 2023. After more than half a year of hard work, the research team successfully trained this large model using the country's first and currently the largest AI training data set for seismology at home and abroad.

Chen Shi, deputy director of the Institute of Geophysics of the China Earthquake Administration, stressed that large-scale model technology is crucial for making full use of massive earthquake observation data. He said that the "Diting" large-scale model has significantly improved the accuracy and speed of identifying earthquake signals.
Wang Jianbo, executive deputy director of the National Supercomputing Center in Chengdu, pointed out that the "Diting" large model is of great significance in breaking through the performance bottleneck of small and medium earthquake wave models and improving the intelligent processing capabilities of earthquake big data. The center is actively promoting the application of artificial intelligence technology in disaster prevention and mitigation, smart cities and other fields.
It is reported that the "Diting" seismic wave large model is now available for use, and the version with one billion parameters is expected to complete pre-training in August 2024. In the future, the model is expected to play an important role in multiple fields such as mine earthquake monitoring, urban underground space structure detection and submarine earthquake monitoring, providing strong support for my country's earthquake early warning and disaster prevention and mitigation work.
