In recent years,Generative AIIt has developed rapidly and is widely used in interactive scenarios such as voice assistants, intelligent customer service, and collaborative office. While promoting technological and industrial changes, it also brings challenges to the protection of user rights and interests.

In order to strengthen the user rights protection capabilities of generative artificial intelligence products and services and promote the healthy and orderly development of related industries, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (hereinafter referred to as "CAICT") Telecommunication Terminal Laboratory, relying on the Telecommunication Terminal Industry Association, organized the formulation of a series of standards for "Requirements for User Rights Protection of Generative Artificial Intelligence Products and Services".

In the early stage, Telecommunication Terminal Laboratory organized a relevant seminar to determine the basic framework and key points of the series of standards for "Requirements for User Rights Protection of Generative Artificial Intelligence Products and Services". From July 16 to 18, 2024, the second meeting of the Information Security and User Data Protection Technology Group (TAF WG4) of the Telecommunication Terminal Industry Association in 2024 was held in Xining. At the meeting, the series of standards successfully passed the project and entered the draft for comments.

More than 70 experts from companies including iFlytek, Huawei, Alibaba, Baidu, Ant, Tencent, vivo, OPPO, Honor, Xiaomi, Douyin, Kuaishou, MiniMax, Meizu, Agora, Meitu, 360, China Unicom, Keep, Weibo, Qualcomm, H3C, Umeng, Hehe Information, Beike, and TND participated in the exchange and discussion of this series of standards.

In accordance with the relevant requirements of the "Interim Measures for the Management of Generative Artificial Intelligence Services" jointly issued by the Cyberspace Administration of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other seven departments, the "Requirements for the Protection of User Rights and Interests of Generative Artificial Intelligence Products and Services" series of standards focuses on service agreements, service disclosures, user data processing, personal rights response, service guarantee capabilities, emergency response measures, etc. to formulate technical specifications, refine user rights protection requirements, and promote the improvement of user rights protection capabilities of providers of generative artificial intelligence products and services.
