Known as "AI Godmother"Fei-Fei Li(Fei-Fei Li) founded a company calledWorld LabsIn just four months, it has grown to a valuation of more than $1 billion, according to the Financial Times.
World Labs is dedicated to enabling AI to have advanced reasoning capabilities by using human-like processing of visual data. The company's research is ongoing and aims to enable AI to achieve more human-like capabilities. Dr. Fei-Fei Li is known for her contributions to computer vision and also led the development of ImageNet, a large visual database for visual object recognition research.
Fei-Fei Li, who served as head of Google Cloud AI from 2017 to 2018 and currently serves as an advisor to the White House task force, founded World Labs while serving as co-director of the Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence at Stanford University.
In her TED talk in April, Fei-Fei Li explained herStartupsThe research areas it will work on will include algorithms that can realistically extrapolate images and text into a three-dimensional environment and act on those predictions, using a concept called "spatial intelligence." This could support work in fields as diverse as robotics, augmented reality, virtual reality, and computer vision. If these capabilities continue to develop as Lee's ambitious plans suggest, it has the potential to transform industries such as healthcare and manufacturing.
World Labs has raised two rounds of funding, the most recent of which was about $100 million, backed by Deutsche Horowitz and artificial intelligence fund Rad Ventures. World Labs’ investment reflects a trend of venture capitalists eager to back ambitious artificial intelligence companies, which have been valued at more than $80 billion thanks to the unexpected success of OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
