Recently,GoogleGoogle I/O is the most anticipated conference in the world with a host of new features and products announced. Although most have yet to be released, we can already get a glimpse at some of the developments that are underway. Google plans to release five new products on July 15 and July 18. Gemini Let’s take a look at the product below!
According to the reverse engineering of the front-end code and related leaks, we can preliminarily understand that the upcoming Gemini products may include: a new version of Imagen3, Gemini customized GPT, personalized response function, scheduled reminder function, recording and Google Photos integration, etc. In addition, there are developments on instant enhancements and Gemini Chrome extensions.
Imagen3 is expected to be available to alpha testers at AI Labs and may eventually be available to Gemini Advanced users as well. While a release next week is unlikely, it is a highly anticipated release given the quality of Imagen2 and the lack of image generation capabilities in the EU. Rumor has it that the first invites will be sent to AI Labs Discord members and premium subscribers.
GEMs
Gemini's custom GPT, called GEM (formerly "Bot"), has been in development since before the I/O announcement. Users will be able to view, edit, and copy GEMs, which are accessed through the GEMs Manager tab. Given its long development time, GEMs could be a significant release, but it could also be delayed.
Memory/personalized response function
This feature appears as a separate section in the side menu, behind the Gemini response icon. The tooltip states that this button will allow users to schedule reminders. In a dedicated tab, users may see a list of scheduled tasks. This unique feature allows users to ask Gemini to send them daily news every morning, and works well with GEM.
Preset prompt words
This feature has been in the code for a while and is expected to function similarly to the memories feature on ChatGPT. Users will have a dedicated option in the settings to access the personalization section. However, since this section is named "Personalized replies," there may be some tweaks.
Audio recording and Google Photos integration
The Attachments option shows two new additions:
Voice Recording: Allows users to record messages and send them as .wav files. While the recording feature seems to work, it feels a long way from release.
Google Photos integration: seems to be close to completion, allowing users to select photos directly from the Photos app on the web. However, it still doesn't solve the problem of not being able to upload multiple pictures at once.
The new hidden button may function as a hint enhancement based on its appearance and name.
In addition, more features of the Android version of Gemini were discovered earlier, and Google is also recruiting beta testers for the iOS version of the Google app, indicating that the iOS version of Gemini update may be coming soon. In addition, future updates may include the ability to disable real-time responses.
As Google's newest and most advanced AI model, Gemini represents a major leap forward in AI capabilities, and its functions and application scenarios are constantly expanding.
