AmazonDeclare its production AI Shopping Assistant Rufus After five months of limited testing, it is now available to all US customers.
Amazon says Rufus is designed to help you save time and make smarter shopping decisions. It can answer a wide range of shopping needs and product questions, "just like having a shopping assistant with you."
Users can tap an icon in the Amazon app to bring up a text chat interface, allowing them to ask Rufus questions like identifying a durable outdoor speaker model, comparing running shoes or getting order updates.
Rufus has been trained on Amazon's catalog and web content, so it is familiar with celebrity biographies, can recommend lakes to visit in Maine, and can even write a short story.
